For those of you who keep fighting the good fight and choosing to live another day. I’m proud of you.

“…I need you to stop dragging me and uplift me. Be proud of who I am AND the things I do. We have Gay Pride because people aren’t proud of who we are. We literally throw a parade for ourselves because we need it. We need to congratulate ourselves for fighting the good fight and choosing to live another day without basic human rights. Without our family and old friends and being okay with who we are-despite what people think of us…”

Someday I hope I can make a man feel the same way I’ve always felt in a relationship-Lucky. It would be nice.

He would sometimes start the conversation and I’d catch him smiling at me. We’d be happy and I’d know that it’s partly because of me.

We’ll be family-brothers. We’ll be friends and lovers. We’ll be the envy of others. Perhaps someday. I have hope.

Relationships aren’t ready for me yet, I’ll just have to accept that.

Someday a man will want to hold my hand. It won’t matter if my hand is sweaty because he makes me excited or nervous-he will still hold my hand.
